onions, courgettes, beans…

…artichokes and fishes!

If there was one reason for me and Greg to move to Turkey it would surely be their fruit and veg markets. We visited one or two during our stay there last month and brought some amazing memories of them. Just walking along the stalls was a feast for our eyes and noses- we didn’t buy anything as our hotel was serving excellent food and our tummies were always more or less full (rather more than less!), but being there was a great experience in itself.

Darkroom jokes

It’s been over a year since I last printed in the dark room. Eeeeeek!

hello!

I’m not dead just seriously busy! And… actually quite sad that I don’t have time to post anything :( . But I will definitely catch up once all the business is over. In the meantime a few shots I took while working (oh, how hard I worked! not really!) with Jason Lowe. He and his team were working on a shoot for AGA (the posh cookers people) and kindly allowed me to join them.
Jason shoots most of his work in daylight and it wasn’t different this time. His studio is a light- filled kitchen/ dining room full of fascinating randomness of plates, platters, glasses, table cloths, pots and other practical yet beautiful objects. And so for three days I was doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that- just helping out wherever someone needed a hand. I had great time (and a lot of great food!) and hope I’ll be able to visit them again one day.

Food was not only tasty but also so beautifully colourful I couldn’t help myself but grab at least a couple of shots…

Nocturne in blue and green, The Marsh on River Medway

Not long after the Christmas break, and just before things started getting really really busy I went out for a walk with an intention to capture the blueness of the evening light. It’s been haunting me since I came across Whistler’s Nocturnes which continue to fascinate me greatly. I’ve been putting away posting my images here and saving them for when I’ll have more time to write about them. I’ve come to a conclusion though, that I will never have more time. So here is the image.

Series to be definitely continued.

Part Four: Me touristing @ St Stephen’s Basilica
Due to the arrangement of our flights/ train journeys, I had to wait for Greg for two days in Budapest this summer. I took a bus there from Poland and he was joining me later coming on a plane. I kind of enjoyed exploring the city on my own- I think it’s something everyone wants to do sometimes. I saw some of the ‘main’ tourist attractions (like St Stephen’s Basilica for example) as well just walked around aimlessly. I enjoyed both, but to be honest by the end of my stay there I seriously missed having my man with me and was over the moon to see him emerge from the tube station when he finally arrived:)
